Bookmarks is an event organised by the Illustration department of Edinburgh College of Art which encompasses an annual artists’ book and zine fair as well as ongoing artist book projects and a series of talks throughout the academic year.
Bookmarks is different form other artist book events in that it focusses entirely on academic study, exploring how artists’ books are used, promoted and created in educational settings. Held at ECA, it brings together students, educators and alumni from Scottish educational institutions while opening its doors and welcoming the wider public.

Jane Hyslop
Jane Hyslop is an artist with particular interest in artists’ books, printmaking and drawing. She lectures in Painting and Illustration and is Course Organiser for Introduction to the Artists’ Book.
Her artist’s books are held in numerous collections including the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, the National Library of Scotland, Tate Library and Yale Center for British Art.
Lucy Roscoe
Lucy Roscoe is an illustrator and academic at Edinburgh College of Art, University of Edinburgh. She works on a variety of commissioned illustrations and self-directed work.
Lucy’s practice revolves around drawing and printmaking, using unusual sculptural book forms to create three-dimensional stories.
